When you are retired the weekend could be your time to get together with family.

Not too many people that are retired sit around with most getting out there eagerly doing something to keeping themselves very busy. Some say "I do know how I ever had time to go to work!"

Many have hobbies and others spend time on projects like researching the family tree while still others like to get out and enjoy a bit of entertainment.

The entertainment scene in Australia is vast, that is because we are nation with people that do things. We have some of the greatest sports people in the world and just about every town in Australia has bowling and golf clubs, tennis courts and other sporting facilities.

Therefore entertainment does not necessarily mean one needs to go to a live show every day!

MUSIC

Also 'groupies' ar not always young people! Following a band around the country is a great pastime for some, especially with a number of 60's, 70's and 80's bands getting together to play to the audiences flocking to their shows. Many people who grew up in those decades still love the music and are often joined by as many young perople who realise the music from those times had some real 'grunt'.

Country music also has a big following in Australia, so if you like to dress up there is always a reason to with a 'country and western' gig or dance happening close by. Go to Tamworth for the country music festival and dress for the occasion 'cowboy style' or 'western style' as we say in Oz!
